| Specimen Required: |
Collect: Plain red, lavender (EDTA) or pink (K2EDTA or K3EDTA). Also acceptable: green (sodium or lithium heparin) or gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate). Avoid use of separator tubes or gels.
Specimen Preparation: Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. Transport 2 mL serum or plasma. (Min: 1 mL)
Storage/Transport Temperature: CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.
Unacceptable Conditions: Whole blood. Refrigerated or room temperature specimens
Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Frozen: 2 weeks
