Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 5 mL plain red.

Transport: 1 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.2 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.2 mL serum at 2-8°C.

Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens drawn in separator tubes,  EDTA, potassium oxalate, or sodium fluoride. 

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 6 months

Reference Interval:
Analgesic: 2-10 mg/dL
Anti-inflammatory: 10-30 mg/dL
Toxic: 31 mg/dL or greater
