Specimen Required: Collect:  One 6 mL green (sodium or lithium heparin) or plasma separator tube.

Transport:  1 mL plasma, frozen. (Min: 0.5 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Amber Transport Tube.

Remarks:  CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are requested. Protect from light during collection, storage, and shipment. Specimens collected in EDTA provide a lower value of riboflavin concentration, therefore EDTA is not acceptable.

Unacceptable Conditions:  Non-frozen, hemolyzed, and lipemic specimens. EDTA plasma. Serum.
