| Specimen Required: |
Collect: One 3 mL serum separator tube or plain red.
Storage/Transport Temperature: 0.5 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.2 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.
Remarks: Separate serum from cells ASAP. Collect all specimens at the same time of day, as there is a diurnal variation of PINP with the values being higher at night.
Unacceptable Conditions: Hemolyzed or lipemic specimens.
Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: 24 hours; Refrigerated: 5 days; Frozen: 2 months
