Specimen Required: Collect:  One 4 mL serum separator tube, lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), or green (sodium or lithium heparin).

Transport:  1 mL serum or plasma, frozen. (Min: 0.3 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Remarks:  Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.

Unacceptable Conditions:  Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic specimens.

Stability:  After separation from cells: Ambient: 2 hours; Refrigerated: 2 days; Frozen: 6 months
