Collect: CSF.
Transport: 1 mL CSF at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.4 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.
Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.3 mL CSF at 2-8°C.
Remarks: Centrifuge and separate to remove cellular material.
Unacceptable Conditions: Grossly bloody or hemolyzed specimens.
Stability: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 8 days; Frozen: 1 year (if frozen within 24 hours)
