Assay is performed on paraffin-embedded, formalin-fixed tissue. Antibody clone is DO-7 and the detection system is LSAB. Although many studies have shown an association between p53 staining and poor prognosis, some articles have shown no association. This association is currently an area of active investigation. This test uses a commercial kit or reagent that has not been approved or cleared by the FDA. Its performance characteristics were determined by ARUP Laboratories. Results of this test should be interpreted with caution in the context of other data.
