Specimen Preparation: Transfer 2 mL platelet-poor plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 1 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: Frozen.

Unacceptable Conditions: Serum. Hemolyzed specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 4 hours; Refrigerated: 24 hours; Frozen: 2 weeks

11 years and older: 63-153%
Interpretive Data: Patients on oral anticoagulants may have decreased protein C values. Patients should be off oral anticoagulant therapy for two weeks for accurate measurement of protein C.
