Specimen Preparation: Transfer 2 mL platelet poor plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL)
Storage/Transport Temperature:CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.
Unacceptable Conditions: Serum. Non-frozen or hemolyzed specimens.
Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 8 hours; Frozen: 1 month

0.0-0.4 µg/mL
Interpretive Data:
The presence of rheumatoid factor may lead to false-positive results with the D-Dimer test. This test should not be used to rule out venous thromboembolism.
Maximal values less than 10 are rarely indicative of DIC.
