Collect: One 4 mL SST.
Transport: 2 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines. Pediatric Collection/Transport: 1 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines. Remarks: EDTA plasma is also acceptable. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP. Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens containing particulate material. Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: Up to 7 days is acceptable, but not preferred; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Indefinitely (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles) |
