| Specimen Required: |
Collect: One 4 mL plasma separator tube or serum separator tube.
Transport: 2 mL plasma or serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.2 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.
Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.2 mL plasma or serum at 2-8°C.
Remarks: Allow serum to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.
Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens collected in EDTA, oxalate/fluoride or citrate, or collection tubes with glycerol lubricated stoppers.
Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 year
