| Specimen Required: |
Collect: One 4 mL plasma separator tube or serum separator tube.
Transport: 1 mL plasma or serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.2 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.
Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.2 mL plasma or serum at 2-8°C.
Remarks: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP.
Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens containing citrate as anticoagulant.
Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 4 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week, if in a closed container; Frozen: 1 month (if in a closed container and serum has been separated from cells)
