Visit ARUP at booth #4453 to learn more about what’s happening at the forefront of laboratory medicine, speak with our experts, and test your skills at parasite and blood cell identification.
ARUP Laboratories’ experts will highlight their latest research and innovations at the upcoming Association for Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) annual meeting, which will be held in Anaheim, California, July 26–30.
ARUP medical directors, scientists, and consultants will present on a range of emerging and relevant topics in laboratory medicine.
David Shiembob, MBA, C(ASCP)CM, manager of ARUP Healthcare Advisory Services, will discuss how laboratories can build a resilient service line that leverages growth and integration strategies to realize benefits and cost savings in a changing industry.
Jonathan Genzen, MD, PhD, MBA, ARUP chief medical officer and senior director of government affairs, and Nicholas Spies, MD, ARUP medical director of Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Clinical Chemistry, will discuss how laboratories will need to adapt in the era of AI. Genzen will address billing, coding, and regulatory considerations; Spies will focus on evaluating and implementing AI solutions.
Kelly Doyle, PhD, DABCC, FADLM, ARUP medical director of Special Chemistry, Endocrinology, and Mass Spectrometry, will share how thinking outside the box has led to developing new solutions to classic problems in pediatrics. Doyle and his colleagues have used a novel indirect method to establish pediatric reference ranges, and their results will be presented at the meeting.
Benjamin Bradley, MD, PhD, head of clinical operations for Infectious Disease at ARUP, will present the laboratorian’s view on vaccine-preventable diseases. The United States has seen recent outbreaks of several vaccine-preventable diseases amid declining vaccine rates. Bradley will discuss the laboratory’s role in identifying outbreaks early as well as how laboratories can better prepare for future outbreaks.
Review the schedule below for details about these presentations and more.
In addition to these expert presentations, ADLM attendees can stop by ARUP’s booth to learn more about what’s happening at the forefront of laboratory medicine, speak with ARUP experts, and test their skills at parasite and blood cell identification. Do you think you know your parasites and blood cells? Visit booth #4453!
The exhibit will also highlight some of ARUP’s latest developments in clinical laboratory medicine. Featured developments will include blood-based biomarker testing as a minimally invasive tool to detect Alzheimer’s disease, using AI-enhanced screening to better detect gastrointestinal parasites, and rapid genome sequencing to quickly diagnosis genetic disease for newborns in neonatal intensive care units. Read more about recent developments at ARUP in the latest edition of Magnify: The Art and Science of Diagnostic Medicine.
ARUP will also host the headshot lounge, where participants will be able to take professional headshots for free.
