The latest issue of ARUP Laboratories’ magazine, Magnify: The Art and Science of Diagnostic Medicine, is now available online. The newly published edition of the biannual magazine features ARUP’s continued advancements in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for ova and parasite testing. It also highlights the importance of genetic testing and one individual’s experience with a lifesaving screening test that led to her colon cancer diagnosis.
In this edition:
- Learn about how and why hereditary cancer genetic testing is underutilized, despite its benefits. Julie Solimine, MGC, LCGC, aims to raise awareness and adoption of testing by explaining why testing matters and who qualifies for it.
- Meet Gillian Jones, who was 29 years old when doctors found a tumor the size of a ping-pong ball in her colon. She wants others to know there’s an easy, at-home approach to specimen collection that simplifies testing.
- Find out how ARUP leverages AI to improve detection of gastrointestinal parasites and ease a laborious testing process.
- Read about how an uptick in healthcare mergers and acquisitions is fueling an interest in health system laboratory alignment.
