Adam Barker, PhD, director of the ARUP Institute for Clinical and Experimental Pathology, will share insights on managing a clinical lab throughout a pandemic during a Dark Intelligence Group COVID-19 STAT Intelligence Briefing on Tuesday, April 27.

ARUP’s Adam Barker, PhD, will be the featured presenter during the Dark Intelligence Group’s COVID-19 STAT Intelligence Briefing at 10 a.m. MDT on Tuesday, April 27.

Barker, director of the ARUP Laboratories Institute for Clinical and Experimental Pathology, will speak on the topic, “Managing a Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory During a Pandemic.” The 30-minute, interactive, virtual meeting will feature Barker’s insights on the importance of redundant testing systems and internal and external supply chain management. He will also talk about how imagination and innovation can drive better testing outcomes.

Barker is also ARUP medical director for Microbiology, Reagent Laboratory, and Research and Development Special Operations and is an assistant professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He led the team that ramped up COVID-19 molecular diagnostic testing at ARUP.
