Immediately Pack Bags in a Box
You can immediately pack bags in a box at a client site so that you don't have to re-enter/re-scan the bag ID's to repack the box for a shipment.
You can also immediately pack bags directly into one box for multiple clients.
- Select EXECUTE ROUTE. The Execute Route screen displays.
- Select the scanner icon
to scan the Client ID barcode located at the client site with your mobile device, or manually enter the client ID in the Client ID field. - Enter the box ID in the Box ID field, or scan the box ID. The box type is automatically assigned based on the bag type entered later in the process.

- Select the add icon
to add a bag. This opens the Add Bags screen where you can begin the pick up. - Scan the bag ID, or manually enter the bag ID and select ADD. Do this for each additional client bag.
Note: If the bag is a non-ARUP bag, see the Non-ARUP bag pick up section.
Bags that are successfully added to the box appear above the Bag ID field.
- Select Save Bags or press Enter. The bag(s) are added to the box.
- After adding all bags for pick up, select Complete Pickup to submit the bags that were collected. The Pickup Verification message displays.
- Select YES if all possible locations for ARUP specimens have been searched, or NO if they haven't. The Client Signature screen opens and displays all bag information.
- Obtain a signature from someone at the client site in the Please sign below... box.
- Select Save Signature. The pick up verification message displays.
Couriers can immediately pack bags directly into one box for multiple clients. This allows couriers to pack similar bag types into the same box at different client sites and avoid creating duplicate boxes.
- Select EXECUTE ROUTE. The Execute Route screen displays.
- Select the scanner icon
to scan the Client ID barcode located at the client site with your mobile device, or manually enter the client ID in the Client ID field. - Enter the box ID in the Box ID field, or scan the box ID. The box type is automatically assigned based on the bag type entered later in the process.

Note: You can edit or delete a bag before obtaining a signature and saving. After saving, you cannot edit the bag, though you can still delete it.
- Repeat the previous steps to add the next bag(s) to the same box.
- In a one-section box, all bag temperatures must be the same.
- When an Infectious box type is assigned, no other bag types can be packed within infectious boxes.
- Infectious boxes can only contain infectious bags.
- Each Infectious box has a limit of 50 mL of infectious specimen(s).
- In a two-section box, if a Room Temperature bag is packed in a section the other section bag temperature can be Refrigerated.
- In a two-section box, if a Refrigerated bag is packed in a section the other section bag temperature can be either Room Temperature or Frozen.
- In a two-section box, if a Frozen bag is packed in a section the other section bag temperature can only be Refrigerated.
Note: A Courier can remove a bag from either the first or second section to correct any packing errors.
- After entering a valid box ID, select the upper right menu
on the Execute Route screen. - Select Cancel Box. The box is removed and you can re-enter or re-scan a box ID.
