Immunohistochemistry Stain Offering :


Methodology: Immunohistochemistry
Performed: Mon-Fri
Reported: 1-5 days
Specimen Required: Collect: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue.

Transport: Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue block enriched with tumor at 20-25°C. Protect paraffin block from excessive heat. Ship in cooled container during summer months. Include surgical pathology report.

All submissions require an ARUP Anatomic Pathology test request form, which includes an ARUP client number. Write the requested stain(s) in the appropriate location on the form. If you do not have a test request form, please contact ARUP Client Services at (800) 522-2787 and request form # 32960. For additional technical details, please contact ARUP Client Services and request to speak with the Immunohistochemistry Lab.


Unacceptable Conditions: Paraffin block with no tissue remaining and samples fixed in formalin substitute.

Note: Interpretation of most stains is only available in conjunction with a consultation.  Stains can be performed and returned for client pathologists to interpret unless noted.
