Specimen Required: Collect: Plain red or serum separator tube.

Specimen Preparation: Separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 2.3 mL serum to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Remarks: Multiple specimen tubes and multiple patient encounters should be avoided.

Unacceptable Conditions: Plasma. Hemolyzed, icteric or lipemic specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 1 year
