#ExistPATIENTPREP>Patient Prep: Urine: If suspect T.vaginalis, collect first voided, particularly after prostatic massage in male patients. Specimen should be held at room temperature. S. haematobium, collect at midday or 24-hour collection in a container without preservative. Peak egg excretion occurs between noon and 3 p.m. Filariasis, detection may occur in urine from patients with chyluria and patients treated with deithylcarbamazine.
