Mnemonic: KRAS RFLX

Methodology: Polymerase Chain Reaction/Pyrosequencing/Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer
Performed: Sun-Sat
Reported: 10-14 days
Specimen Required: Collect: Tumor tissue.

Storage/Transport Temperature: Paraffin-embedded, formalin-fixed tissue block, or 5 unstained 5µm slides at 20-25°C. (Min: 3 slides) Protect paraffin block from excessive heat. Ship in cooled container during summer months. Include surgical pathology report.

Unacceptable Conditions: No tumor in tissue. Frozen specimens and specimens fixed/processed in alternative fixatives (alcohol, Prefer®).

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: Indefinitely; Refrigerated: Indefinitely; Frozen: Unacceptable
Interpretive Data: Refer to report.

This test is performed pursuant to an agreement with Roche Molecular Systems, Inc.

Please refer to Statement B in the Compliance Statements section in the front of the Laboratory Test Directory.
Note: If KRAS is not detected, BRAF V600E Detection of Colon Cancer (Unstable Tumors) by PCR will be performed.
