Specimen Required: Collect: One 4 mL serum separator tube or plasma separator tube. Also acceptable: lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), or green (sodium or lithium heparin).

Storage/Transport Temperature: 1 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.15 mL)

Remarks: Remove serum from cells ASAP.

Unacceptable Conditions: Other body fluids. Severely lipemic, contaminated, and hemolyzed specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 2 Days; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 1 year
Reference Interval:
11 AU/mL or less: Negative - No significant level of detectable IgA antibodies against TGe.
12-17 AU/mL: Equivocal - Borderline levels of IgA antibodies against TGe.
18 AU/mL or greater: Positive - Presence of IgA antibodies against TGe.
