| Specimen Required: |
Collect: Fine needle aspiration in saline. Also acceptable: Non-viscous body fluids.
Storage/Transport Temperature: 0.5 mL saline needle rinse, frozen. (Min: 0.5 mL)
Remarks: Indicate source on test request form. Centrifuge to remove cellular material. Specimen must be non-viscous and free of particulate matter. Heparin or EDTA specimen tubes are also acceptable.
Unacceptable Conditions: Viscous specimens.
Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 1 day; Frozen: 6 months
