Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 7 mL plain red. Also acceptable: lavender (EDTA), pink (K2 EDTA), green (sodium heparin), or gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate). 

Transport: 2 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 1.5 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 1.5 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C.

Remarks: Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP. Avoid use of separator tubes and gels.

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 24 hours; Refrigerated: 5 days; Frozen: 1 month (avoid freeze/thaw cycles)

1.0-12.0 ng/mL

Interpretive Data:
The lowest possible plasma concentration at which therapeutic effect is exhibited should be sought.
