Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 4 mL SST or plain red.

Transport: 1 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min. 0.2 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.1 mL serum at 2-8°C.

Unacceptable Conditions: Lipemic, hemolyzed, icteric, bacterially contaminated, or heat-inactivated specimens.

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 2 days; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 1 year

Reference Interval:
1.49 IV or less: Negative - No significant level of Strongyloides IgG antibody detected.
1.50-2.10 IV: Equivocal - Questionable presence of  Strongyloides IgG antibody detected. Repeat testing in 10-14 days may be helpful.
2.11 IV or greater: Positive- IgG antibodies to Strongyloides detected, which may suggest current or past infection.
