Specimen Required: Collect:  One 7 mL plain red or serum separator tube.  Also acceptable: lavender EDTA, pink (K2EDTA), green (sodium heparin), gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate), or citrate. 

Storage/Transport Temperature:  3 mL serum or plasma, frozen.  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 1.5 mL)

Unacceptable Conditions:  Grossly hemolyzed or lipemic specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing):  After separation from cells: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 4 days; Frozen: 1 month
