Specimen Required: Collect: Green (sodium or lithium heparin).

Specimen Preparation: Separate plasma from cells within one hour of collection. Transfer 3 mL plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 2 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.

Remarks: Clinical information is needed for appropriate interpretation. Additional required information includes age, gender, diet (e.g. TPN therapy), drug therapy, and family history.
