Aspergillus fumigatus Antibody, IgG by ELISA : 0097771

Mnemonic: ASPFUM IGG

Ordering Recommendation: Aspergillus fumigatus-specific IgG is one component of testing recommended to establish the diagnosis of allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA); it is not appropriate for diagnosing invasive aspergillosis.
Methodology: Semi-Quantitative Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay
Performed: Tue, Fri
Reported: 1-5 days
Specimen Required: Collect: Serum separator tube or plain red.

Specimen Preparation: Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 1 mL serum to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.05 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Unacceptable Conditions: Contaminated, lipemic, or turbid specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation form cells: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 1 year (avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles)

Reference Interval:
0.00-10.00 U/mL: Negative - No significant level of Aspergillus IgG antibody detected.
10.01-12.00 U/mL: Equivocal - Questionable presence of Aspergillus IgG antibodies.
12.01 U/mL or greater: Positive - Aspergillus fumigatus IgG antibody detected. A positive result satisfies a single criterion in the determination of allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA).
