OKT3, Circulating Drug Level : 0095895

Mnemonic: OKT3

Methodology: Flow Cytometry
Performed: Sun-Sat
Reported: 1-3 days
Specimen Required: Collect:  One 7 mL plain red or green (sodium heparin).

Transport:  2 mL serum or plasma at 20-25°C, if delivered within 24 hours; otherwise transport at 2-8°C. (Min: 1 mL)

Pediatric Collection/Transport:  0.5 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C.

Stability:  Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month
Reference Interval:
500-1500 ng/mL during steady state treatment.
Interpretive Data: With a 5 mg/d dosage of OKT3 for immunosuppression, plasma levels usually rise within two to three days to a steady state between
500-1500 ng/mL. Values are often lower during the first few days of therapy (Transplantation 42:507, 1986). Early, abnormal consumption of OKT3 by host
anti-OKT3 antibodies can be detected by a drop in plasma OKT3 (Transplantation 47:533, 1989).

Please refer to Statement B in the Compliance Statements section in the front of the Laboratory Test Directory.
