Interpretive Data:

Please refer to Statement A in the Compliance Statements section in the front of the Laboratory Test Directory.
Note: Surface markers in leukemia and lymphoma may aid in identifying the tumor lineage for diagnostic and prognostic purposes. After review of the clinical history and morphology, a panel of markers is selected for each case by a board-certified pathologist. In most cases, the lineage can be identified as T-cell, B-cell, or myeloid and a diagnosis, or differential diagnosis, can be made.
CPT Code(s): 88184 Technical component only first marker and 88185 Each additional marker; AND 88187 Interpretation for 2-8 markers or 88188 Interpretation for 9-15 markers or 88189 Interpretation for 16 or more markers.
