Specimen Required: Collect:  One 4 mL serum separator tube.  Also acceptable: lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), or green (sodium or lithium heparin).

Transport:  0.5 mL serum or plasma, frozen.  (Min: 0.25 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport:  0.25 mL serum or plasma, frozen.

Remarks:  CRITICAL FROZEN.  Additional specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.  Serum or plasma should be separated from cells and frozen immediately after collection.

Unacceptable Conditions:  Ambient and refrigerated specimens.
