Collect: One 5 mL plain red.  Also acceptable: lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), or green (sodium heparin).

Transport: 1 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.5 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C.

Unacceptable Conditions: Separator tubes.

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 5 days; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 2 months

Reference Interval:
40-100 µg/mL
Toxic: > 150 µg/mL
