| Specimen Required: |
Collect: From the back of the head, just below the crown, grasp a lock of hair about 1/4 inch in width between two fingers, and cut close to the scalp. Trim the 1/2 inch of hair closest to the root into a metal-free container. Discard the remaining length of hair.
Transport: 1/4" X 1/4" X 1/2" sample of hair in a plastic, metal-free container at 20-25°C.
Stability: If the sample is collected and stored in the appropriate container, the trace element values do not change with time.
