Specimen Required:  
Collect: Random urine.

Transport: 5 mL urine at 2-8°C.  (Min: 1 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 1 mL urine at 2-8°C.

Stability: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 month; Frozen: 3 years

Interpretive Data:
Positive results will occur with codeine, morphine, Vicodin (hydrocodone), or Dilaudid® (hydromorphone). This assay will not detect Percodan (oxycodone), Demerol (meperidine), Dolophine (methadone), Anarcon (nalorphine), Narcan (naloxone), or Talwin (pentazocine).  Assay cutoff value of 2000 ng/mL is used to discern positive from negative results.  This is a screening test and positive findings are unconfirmed.
