| Specimen Required: |
Collect: Plain red. Also acceptable: Green (sodium heparin).
Specimen Preparation: Transfer 1 mL serum or plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL) For serum, ensure complete clot formation has taken place prior to centrifugation.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Frozen.
Unacceptable Conditions: Gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate). Hemolyzed specimens.
Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: 14 days
