Specimen Required: Collect:  One 5 mL plain red. Also acceptable: lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), green (sodium heparin), gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate).

Transport:  2 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C. (Min: 1 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport:  1 mL serum or plasma at 2-8°C.

Remarks:  Avoid use of separator tubes and gels.

Stability:  After separation from cells: Ambient: 5 days; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 6 months
