| Specimen Required: |
Collect: One 3 mL red or serum separator tube.
Transport: 1 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.
Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.5 mL serum at 2-8°C.
Remarks: Remove serum from cells ASAP. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Unacceptable Conditions: Plasma. Icteric, lipemic, or hemolyzed specimens.
Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 2 months
