Collect: Amniotic fluid. Amniocentesis fluid preferred. Do not centrifuge.
Transport: 1 mL amniotic fluid at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.5 mL) If transport is longer than four hours, send frozen.
Remarks: Freeze immediately.
Unacceptable Conditions: Ambient samples.
Stability: Ambient: 1 hour; Refrigerated: 4 hours; Frozen: 1 week
