Specimen Required:  
Collect: Random or 24-hour urine. Refrigerate during collection. Urine must be collected in a plastic container. 

Transport: 4.5 mL aliquot from a well-mixed random or 24-hour collection, frozen.  (Min: 1 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 1 mL aliquot from a well-mixed random or 24-hour collection, frozen.

Remarks: CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. Freeze immediately. Specimens preserved with HCl are acceptable for this test if frozen immediately.  Record total volume and collection time interval on transport tube and test request form.

Unacceptable Conditions: Ambient specimens.

Stability: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 24 hours; Frozen: 2 weeks
