#ExistCollect>Collect: One 4 mL serum separator tube or plain red.
*ExistCollect>
#ExistTransport>Transport: 2 mL serum, frozen. (Min: 0.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

#ExistRemarks>Remarks: Separate serum from cells ASAP. This test is not appropriate for tumor marker studies and should not be performed on males. If testing cannot be performed within 48 hours from collection, ship frozen. SST or plain red needs to sit for 15-20 minutes for proper clot formation and to assure the absence of fibrin in the serum which can interfere with this assay.

#ExistConditions>Unacceptable Conditions: Plasma. Specimens exposed to repeated freeze/thaw cycles or ordered for tumor markers. Tests ordered on males.
