Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 6 mL SST. (Min: 4 mL)

Transport: 1 mL serum, frozen. (Min: 0.45 mL)

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.45 mL serum, frozen.

Remarks: If upright is collected, patient should be seated or standing for at least 2 hours. Heparinized plasma is also acceptable.

Unacceptable Conditions: EDTA plasma.

Stability: Ambient: 4 hours; Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: 1 month

Reference Interval:
Greater than 7.0 ng/dL
