Collect: Actively growing yeast, in pure culture, on agar slant. Specimen source is preferred.
Transport: Organism in pure culture in a sealed container at 20-25°C. Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines. Pediatric Collection/Transport: Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines. Remarks: Additional patient history may be helpful. Unacceptable Conditions: Nonviable organisms, mixed cultures, and leaking containers. Stability: Ambient: 2 weeks; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: Unacceptable |
