Test Information: The high-risk HPV test detects HPV genotypes 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, and 68, which are associated with cervical cancer and its precursor lesions. However, cross-reactions with other genotypes may occur. Results should be correlated with cytologic and histologic findings. Sensitivity may be affected by cellularity of specimen. Please refer to Statement B in the Compliance Statements section in the front of the Laboratory Test Directory. *ExistInterpData> |
| Note: | |
| If the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) DNA Probe test is positive Genotyping is performed. Genotyping is not performed on specimens yielding negative or equivocal results on the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) DNA Probe test. |
