Reported: Within 24 hours
Specimen Required: Collect:  Tissue, sputum, skin scrapings, corneal scrapings, hair, nail clippings. Source of specimen is required.

Transport:  Specimen in a sterile container. Do not put nail clippings or hair in a moist environment (saline). Send immediately to ARUP at 20-25°C.

Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.


Pediatric Collection/Transport:  

Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.


Unacceptable Conditions:  Nonsterile or leaking containers, and swabs.

Stability:  Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: Unacceptable
