| Specimen Required: |
Collect: Sputum from cystic fibrosis patients.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Sputum in sterile, leak-proof container. Send immediately to ARUP at 2-8°C.
Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.
Unacceptable Conditions: Nonsterile or leaking containers, multiple specimens (more than one in 24 hours).
Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 2 hours; Refrigerated: 24 hours; Frozen: Unacceptable
