Specimen Required: Collect: One 7 mL plain red or serum separator tube, one 5 mL lavender (EDTA) or pink (K2 EDTA). (Spin blood samples and remove serum or plasma before transporting), amniotic fluid, CSF, or biopsy tissue (freeze tissue immediately). Specimen source is required.

Storage/Transport Temperature: 1 mL serum, plasma, amniotic fluid, or CSF in a sterile container, frozen. Fresh tissue, snap frozen on dry ice. (Min: 0.5 mL)

Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.


Unacceptable Conditions: Nonsterile or leaking containers. Heparinized or hemolyzed samples.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): Ambient: 8 hours (excludes tissues); Refrigerated: 3 days (excludes tissues); Frozen: 3 months
Interpretive Data: This test is performed pursuant to an agreement with Roche Molecular Systems, Inc.
