| Specimen Required: |
Collect: CSF, synovial fluid, skin punch biopsy, one 5 mL lavender (EDTA), or one 7 mL plain red. Spin blood specimen and remove serum or plasma before transport. Freeze skin tissue immediately. Specimen source is required.
Transport: 1 mL CSF, synovial fluid, serum, or plasma in a sterile container, frozen. Skin punch biopsy, snap frozen, and sent on dry ice. (Min: 0.5 mL)
Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.
Pediatric Collection/Transport:

Unacceptable Conditions: Heparinized or severely lipemic specimens. Nonsterile or leaking containers. Frozen or clotted whole blood.
