Collect: One 4 mL plain red.
Transport: 0.5 mL serum, frozen. (Min: 0.4 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.4 mL serum, frozen. Remarks: Separate serum from cells ASAP. Do not use gel barrier. Unacceptable Conditions: Hemolyzed, contaminated, and heat-inactivated specimens. Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 2 days; Frozen: 6 months |
