Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 4 mL SST

Transport: 1 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.5 mL) Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.15 mL serum at 2-8°C. Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Unacceptable Conditions: Plasma, icteric, contaminated, severly hemolyzed or lipemic specimens.

Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 2 days; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 1 year

Reference Interval:
Less than 20 Units

Interpretive Data:
The presence of IgA antibodies against F-Actin in patients having positive serologic markers for celiac disease, such as antiendomysial, anti-transglutaminase, and/or anti-gliadin peptide IgA, indicates the presence of intestinal villus atrophy. Positive results should be confirmed with biopsy.
