Specimen Required:  
Collect: One 4 mL SST.

Transport: 1 mL serum at 2-8°C. (Min: 0.25 mL)  Submit specimen in an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.

Pediatric Collection/Transport: 0.25 mL serum at 2-8°C.

Stability: After separation from cells:  Ambient:  2 days; Refrigerated:  2 weeks; Frozen: 1 year

Reference Interval:
Negative: 20.0 Units or less
Equivocal: 20.1-24.9 Units
Positive: 25.0 Units or greater

Interpretive Data:
Up to 55% of patients with Crohn disease may be positive for IgA antibodies to Outer Membrane Protein (OMP). The absence of IgA antibodies to OMP does not rule out Crohn disease.
