Specimen Required: Collect: Lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), plain red, or serum separator tube. OR CSF or tissue.

Specimen Preparation: Separate serum or plasma from cells. Transfer 1 mL serum, plasma, or CSF to a sterile container. (Min: 0.5 mL)
OR Tissue:
Snap freeze immediately. Also acceptable: Formalin fix and paraffin embed tissue.


Storage/Transport Temperature: Fresh Tissue: Frozen. Transport on dry ice.
Paraffin Embedded Tissue:
Room temperature.
All others:
Frozen.

Submit specimen according to Biological Substance, Category B, shipping guidelines.


Remarks: Specimen source required.

Unacceptable Conditions: Tissues in formalin (not paraffin embedded) or other preservatives. Specimens in Microtest M4. Heparinized specimens. Frozen specimens. Clotted or hemolyzed whole blood.
